This app can turn your Meta Portal into a secondary display for your computer
Meta announced this in an official blog post on Wednesday. The second-generation Meta Portal Plus and Meta Portal Go are now compatible with the Duet Display app. With this app, you’ll be able to drag open windows from your computer and display them on the Meta Portal device. This turns it into a secondary display to help you get more work done. Just note that you’ll only be able to use the Portal as a display when you’re not on a video call. A video call might interrupt the secondary screen capabilities. If you want to use your Portal device in tandem with your computer, you’ll need to download the Duet Display app on the device from the app store. You’ll also need to download the app for your computer here. This app works on both Windows PCs and macOS devices. You’ll need Windows 10+ and macOS 10.9+. You’ll also want to note that the Duet Display functionality does cost money. There’s an annual plan that you’ll need to subscribe to in order to use it. It costs $25.08/year. That’s not a bad price, actually. If you own a company and you have multiple Meta Portals that you want to turn into secondary displays, there’s an Enterprise plan available as well. For that, you’ll need to contact the company to get a price.
