The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is said to launch in Q2 2022
So, considering he mentioned Q2 this year, that means we can expect it at any time between the start of April, and the end of June. This handset will be a direct successor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold launched back in March last year, and it was the company’s first foldable smartphone. That device didn’t launch globally, though, it remained exclusive to China. That won’t be the case with its successor, hopefully. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is expected to offer a similar design to its predecessor. It will open like a book, and have two displays. This device is expected to rival the Galaxy Z Fold 3. You will notice that we mentioned the ‘Mi’ branding with the original Fold, but not its successor. In case you’re wondering why, well, the answer is simple. Xiaomi ditched the ‘Mi’ branding a while back. Its future product won’t feature it.
The device is expected to offer an 8.1-inch main display
Now, some information regarding the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 did surface recently. The device is rumored to feature an 8.1-inch main display, with a QHD+ resolution. Both its main and secondary displays are expected to offer a high refresh rate this time around. Xiaomi will likely use an LTPO panel here, at least for the main display. So, an adaptive refresh rate will be a part of the package, which is good to hear. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is expected to fuel this smartphone. You’ll also get plenty of storage here, along with a large battery, and fast charging. Android 12 is expected to come pre-installed, along with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin. As a side note, Xiaomi is also expected to launch a competitor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 this year, its first clamshell foldable smartphone.
