At this event, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. That’s similar to what Samsung announced at this same event last year. But it doesn’t seem that there will be a new tablet coming at this event this year. Which is rather unfortunate, since Samsung is one of the few Android OEMs still making tablets. So there’s likely no Galaxy Tab S9 this year.
Second year without a Galaxy Note
Last year, Samsung basically confirmed that the Galaxy Note was dead. Not announcing a new one, and saying that they were moving towards foldables. But the Note isn’t really dead, it’s just the “Ultra” version of the Galaxy S lineup now. Which makes a lot more sense. That means that these phones coming today, are not going to replace the Galaxy S22 series, which makes a lot more sense. Then replacing a phone that’s barely 6 months old. Samsung is aiming to make foldables mainstream this year with this Unpacked event. Which they kind of already did last year with Unpacked. Announcing the Galaxy Z Flip 3 at $999, which was the price of virtually every other flagship on the market – and they didn’t fold in half. Which helped foldables to gain quite a bit of market share, year-over-year. And now Samsung aims to do that again this year. As mentioned, Unpacked is set to start at 9:30AM ET, and should last about an hour. You can watch it live in the YouTube video down below. We expect that pre-orders will open immediately after the event ends, as that has been the case for the last couple of years, of unpacked events.
