This is what Vivo’s first clamshell foldable may look like
If you take a look at the first image below this paragraph, you’ll see the sketch in question. Next to it sits a mockup made based on that sketch, showing us what the phone may actually look like, via a render. There will be a circular camera cutout in the top-left corner, while a cover display will sit below it. The LED flash and Zeiss branding details have been added to the mockup, but are not present on the sketch. Based on other foldables we’ve seen, and Vivo’s usual combination of buttons, all physical keys will sit on the right-hand side. The power/lock button will be placed below the volume up and down keys.
The cover display will be quite spacious, actually
That cover display won’t be too small, it seems, that actually seems to be more than a decent size. We do hope that Vivo will find a way to properly utilize that secondary display, however. There are four cameras included on the mockup, but we’re still not sure how many will Vivo actually include. Having said that, the same tipster did reveal another detail regarding this smartphone.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is said to fuel the device
Digital Chat Station said that the Vivo X Flip will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. That is one of the best SoCs Qualcomm released to date. It’s not the latest and greatest, but it’s up there. We’re not really sure when will this phone launch, though. Vivo recently announced its new flagship Vivo X90 series devices, including the Vivo X90 Pro+ flagship handset. This phone is in development, but we don’t have a launch window at this point.
