PlayStation Plus usually has at least one good game a month. Though whether or not the titles are good is generally subjective. That being said, there are sometimes also games added that are universally understood to be really good. And this month Sony isn’t just adding one. It’s added three excellent games (technically four).
The PlayStation Plus games for August include Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Good news for JRPG fans, Yakuza: Like A Dragon is one of August’s free games. Even if you’re not a big fan of JRPGs, this is one that’s worth considering. The Yakuza series has always offered games with a really good story. Combat has always been fun, and the unique brand of gameplay served up by the team at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is hard to match in terms of pure enjoyment. The thing is, Yakuza: Like A Dragon is the first game in the series that offers turn-based combat. It’s also the first JRPG in the series. As all the others were action-adventure titles. The mix of Yakuza’s zany humor and over the top story along with turn-based JRPG gameplay makes for a real gem of a game. And now that you can claim the game for free (in both PS4 and PS5 versions), there’s no better time to give Yakuza: Like A Dragon and the Yakuza series a try.
Shred city streets with Tony Hawk
If you grew up playing the masterpieces that were the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games, then you won’t to miss two of this month’s other free titles. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. Not only do you get two free games here with this bundle, but it’s another cross-gen bundle. So you can download them in either the PS4 or PS5 versions. Both new games have been redone to provide better graphics while keeping the same iconic gameplay and content as the originals. So make sure to check these out. The last game added this month is Little Nightmares. A game about facing your childhood fears as a kid while you try to escape The Maw. You can claim all these games starting on August 2. Which means you only have a few more days left to grab the free games for July if you haven’t already done so.
