Samsung launched its Tab S6 line of tablets originally in 2020. Now, two years later, it seems that the company is still in love with it. The Lite version brought a similar form factor but with the typical technical cutbacks to suit a lower price tag.
Now, we know the specs for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022
The 2022 refresh for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will have specs typical of a modern-day midrange tablet. For starters, there will be two variants of the tablet: one will use Wi-Fi while the other will use LTE connectivity. There’s no 5G connectivity, and we doubt that it will use Wi-Fi 6. As for the hardware, we’re looking at a 10.4-inch TFT LCD display. It looks like it might have an 18:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,200. It should be a decent display, but you might be disappointed if you’re used to using AMOLED displays from Samsung. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, and that’s backed up by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Those specs are reminiscent of a 2015 flagship phone, but it should be good enough to get you through a day of light gaming, video watching, and maybe some writing. Just don’t expect this device to be a productivity machine. Moving onto the cameras, this tablet has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calls. Keeping the lights on is a 7,040mAh battery. The source says that this tablet could have dual speakers tuned by AKG. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 will come with Android 12 out of the box, but we don’t expect it to have Android 12L. It’d make sense for it to get the platform update later on in the year. It still has to make it to the Galaxy Tab S8 series.
Prices
If you’re looking forward to getting one of these tablets, the prices don’t seem too bad. The Wi-Fi variant is expected to cost around €379 when it launches ($399), and the LTE variant is expected to cost €439 ($463). That’s not a bad price for an Android 12 tablet that also supports the S Pen. Right now, we only know that this tablet is going to launch in the European market.
