The Pixel 7 referral program does include both Pixel 7 phones, and the Pixel 6a
Do note that it applies for both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, but also the Pixel 6a. The Pixel 6a is not technically a Pixel 7 phone, but it’s included in this deal, which is nice to see.
Do note that this is not reserved for Superfans. It seems like Google is sending out codes via standard Google Pixel promo emails. Those emails are titled “Give a friend $100 to spend on the Google Store”. Google also mentions that you can refer up to 10 friends for a total of $1,000 in Google Store credit. That credit can be spent towards accessories for your new smartphone, a pair of earbuds perhaps, or a whole new phone. It’s up to you, anything available on the Google Store is game. That credit is not available straight away, though, more on that soon. Google does note that the referral code must be used by June 30, 2023, or it will expire. So, there’s plenty of time to take advantage of this deal, that’s for sure.
You won’t get Google Store credit straight away, not at all
Now, there’s a catch here. If you do this, both you and the person who bought a new device will get $100 in credit, but not straight away. Google says that both parties will “receive an email with the promotional code within 8-10 weeks after the end of the promotion”. Now, we’re not sure if this means from the moment the device was bought, or from June 2023. There’s a big difference there, needless to say. Even 8-10 weeks from the moment the device got purchased is a lot. That is especially true if you want to get something else straight away. 8-10 weeks from June 2023 is just odd, and doesn’t make a lot of sense. We’ll have to wait for Google to clear things up. This would be a much more appealing offer if Google provided that credit soon after the purchase, preferably within 24-48 hours. That won’t happen, though.
