The Lightguide Bulbs are really the first true statement light bulbs from Hue. It has a distinct contemporary design, and comes in three shapes. There’s a large globe, ellipse and a triangular shape option all available. They have a glowing inner tube that is able to diffuse light, and each will sport a glossy finish. So that they are able to shine even brighter. These are available in both white and color ambiance, rated at 500 lumens. These bulbs will cost between $74.99 and $89.99 each. So these won’t be cheap.
Philips Hue also updated their filament candle bulb
The popular filament candle bulb from Philips Hue has also been updated. It’s now a tunable white light, while the older version was only dimmable. So you can go from warm to cool white light. It’ll be available on September 13 for $44.99 or you can get a two-pack for $64.99. Philips Hue is also expanding its partnership with Samsung SmartThings, as was leaked. Its smart lights are going to be able to sync with music on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets through a new Philips Hue and SmartThings app music sync. This will be available today, starting at 8PM ET. Music Sync is going to let you pulse your colored Hue lighting in sync with your favorite songs. This will require a Hue Bridge, so if you were using Hue with just Bluetooth, this won’t work. And while SmartThings does work on more than just Samsung smartphones, this feature is going to be limited to Galaxy smartphones only at this time.
