OPPO’s first foldable smartphone may launch on December 14
Several reports said that the device will launch in December, so this is to be expected. Coincidentally, OPPO today announced the OPPO INNO Day 2021, for December 14. So, will the device launch during that conference? Well, it’s possible, unless OPPO decides to host a separate conference for this phone. What’s interesting is that OPPO, in its OPPO INNO Day 2021 teaser image (shown below), included a curved display. IMAGE Now, it’s possible this doesn’t have anything to do with its foldable, but… it’s worth noting. We don’t know much about this device. Its design didn’t leak thus far, but some specs are rumored. The device will allegedly be an inwards folding smartphone. So, its main display will be protected when it’s folded. What’s interesting is that a recent rumor suggested the device will have three displays. So, in addition to the main one, that folds, there will be a secondary display, and a tiny third display. That third display could be reserved for notifications, or something of the sort, something similar to what Microsoft implemented on the Surface Duo 2.
Its main display is said to measure 8 inches
The phone’s main display is rumored to measure 8 inches, and that will be a QHD+ display, it seems. You can also expect it to offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The secondary display will be placed on the outside, and will measure 6.5 inches. That will be a fullHD+ display, and it will allegedly offer a 60Hz refresh rate. What’s interesting is that it will also be curved. If that ends up being the case, this will be the first foldable to have a curved display. The Snapdragon 888+ will likely fuel the device, while OPPO’s self-developed ISP will also be a part of the package. LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage will be included too.
