So, does this mean that the Xiaomi 12 series will launch before December 9? Well, it’s possible, unless Lei Jun was referring to the release date of its phones. We’ll have to wait and see, as we don’t know when will they go on sale.
The Motorola Edge X30 will launch on December 9 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC
In any case, the Motorola Edge X30 has been leaking for a while now, and now we finally know when will it launch. This smartphone will be made out of metal and glass, and we do know what it will look like. If you take a look at the images in the gallery below this paragraph, you’ll see the device itself. Those CAD-based renders did surface recently. The device will include a flat display, with a display camera hole, and somewhat thin bezels. It will feature three cameras on the back, which will be vertically-aligned. The Motorola logo is visible on the back, while the phone’s back side will be curved towards the sides. What’s interesting here is that the volume up and down buttons are on the right, and the power/lock key is on the left. This may be the case with the Chinese variant, but the global model will revert this. This handset will likely utilize an in-display fingerprint scanner, as one is not located on the back, nor on the sides. Motorola is expected to utilize an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.
A 5,000mAh battery will be included, along with really fast charging support
This handset will feature a 6.67-inch 144Hz AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. A 5,000mAh battery was also mentioned, while Motorola will include 68W charging, it seems. A 50-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera on the back. A 2-megapixel depth sensor will also be included back there. A single 60-megapixel camera is said to be included on the front. Do note that the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra was also mentioned. It’s possible this will be the phone’s name in global markets, or Motorola is planning to unveil two phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The former scenario is more likely, though.
