That being said, let’s get started. We’ll begin with a guide from your smartphone app, as that’s probably the way most of you will do it.
How to change your email address on Facebook from your phone
The first thing you’ll need to do is open the app, of course. Once you do that, you’ll need to tap the hamburger menu on the right side, the three horizontal lines.
Once the new menu opens, scroll down until you find the “Settings & Privacy” option, and tap it.
In the drop-down menu, you’ll get five new options to choose from. We’re interested in the first one, the one titled “Settings”.
Under the “Account” option at the top, you’ll see the “Personal and Account Information” sub-menu. That is the one you need to tap.
Your personal and account information will open, and we’re interested in the “Contact Info”, so that’s what you need to choose next.
In this menu, you’ll see your phone number, and email address. Before you change your email address (or phone number, for that matter), you’ll need to enter a new one. One email address always needs to be included. So, you’ll need to choose the “Add Email Address” option, choose a new email, and confirm it afterward. Once you do that, you’ll be able to delete the current one.
How to change your email address on Facebook from your desktop PC (web browser)
The procedure to change your email address on Facebook is quite simple from your browser as well. Once you open Facebook on your computer, you’ll see a down-facing arrow in the top-right corner. Click it.
In the drop-down menu, several options will appear, and you’ll need to click the “Settings & Privacy” option.
In the next menu, choose the “Settings” option.
A brand new page will open, containing your General Account Settings. There you’ll see the “Contact” info, next to which your email is listed. You’ll notice an “Edit” button to the right, click it.
Once a new menu opens, you’ll see the “Add another email or mobile number” option. You’ll need to tap that, and add a new email (and confirm it) before you’re able to delete the old one.
