This information comes from a Chinese tipster, who shared the info via Weibo. He says that the phone will be called the HONOR Magic X, and that it will have a rather familiar design.
The first foldable from HONOR may still launch in Q4 this year
The HONOR Magic X will allegedly resemble the Huawei Mate X2 when it comes to the design. That also means that it will resemble the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and 3, as the Mate X2 got inspired by those devices. So, what can we expect? Well, if the tip is accurate, the phone will include a foldable main display, and a secondary display on the outside. The device will fold and unfold like you’d open and close a book. The Magic X is also tipped to use foldable panels provided by BOE and Visionox. Previous rumors suggested that the phone will include an 8-inch foldable display, and a 6.5-inch cover panel.
The device will ship with Google services pre-installed
Now, the HONOR Magic X, if it gets announced soon, will ship with Google services pre-installed. HONOR is no longer banned by the US, as it split from Huawei. The US is considering whether to ban HONOR again, but that hasn’t happened just yet, and it’s possible it won’t at all. HONOR will soon bring its X50 series to the global market, and this foldable, if it gets announced, is also expected to make it to global markets. It’s likely HONOR will first announce it in China, though. When it comes to its specs, we don’t have any information, other than the display information we’ve mentioned. The phone will likely offer high-end specifications, though, and be made out of premium materials. Let’s hope HONOR will share more information soon, as it will be interesting to see what can the company make when it comes to foldable phones.
