‘Twitter for Android’ and ‘Twitter for Phone’ labels are now gone
Why are these labels gone? Well, Elon Musk didn’t really see the reason to keep them around. Last month, he said that they’re a “waste of screen space & compute”, as they’re displayed below every tweet. He obviously believed they don’t serve a purpose, or at least not a good enough purpose to justify keeping them around. Based on the comments ever since, most people tend to agree with that. This change was not officially announced to be rolling out, at least not to our knowledge, but was spotted by Pubity. We scrolled all over Twitter to see if we can spot some leftovers, and quite frankly didn’t find a single one. It seems like the entire feature was scrapped off. Elon Musk took over Twitter about a month and a half ago. He named himself CEO back then, but that may not be the case for long. Elon Musk actually decided to allow Twitter users to vote if he’ll stay on as Twitter CEO or not.
Musk is allowing users decide whether he’ll stay Twitter CEO or not
Musk is currently running a poll, which was still active at the time of writing this article, but may be over by the time you see it. But it will be over soon, and judging by the current results, Elon Musk won’t be Twitter’s CEO for long. He promised to abide by the results of the poll, and at the moment, 58% of votes voted “Yes”, which is a vote for Musk to step down. If that happens, Musk will have to find someone else to lead Twitter, of course. This is not the first time Musk allowed users to make a major Twitter decision in such a manner, but many would say this is the biggest decision yet.
